Hospital

Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby is a 241-bed hospital serving greater Cleveland County, NC, and the surrounding region. We were the first Level III trauma center in NC, offering advanced emergency care.

We strive every day to bring advanced care to the community. We also believe in serving the community outside our hospital walls, as evidenced by our commitment to health education, and through our contributions to organizations such as United Way and Relay for Life.

Visiting Hours

At Atrium Health Cleveland, we realize that your family and friends are important to you and your well-being. Our main entrance is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Visiting Hours:

We welcome and encourage family visitation at any time in the ICU. Due to the size of our rooms and the safety for our patients, we can accommodate a maximum of two visitors at a time.

Before entering the ICU, all visitors must receive permission from the patient’s primary nurse or ICU charge nurse by using the intercom outside the ICU doors.

Visitation may be limited during shift changes and quiet times:

  • 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. – shift change
  • 2 to 4 p.m. – quiet time
  • 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – shift change
  • midnight to 4 a.m. – quiet time

Women’s and Children’s Unit Visiting Hours:

Women’s and Children’s Services observes “quiet time” from 2 to 4 p.m. daily. During this time, patients are given an opportunity to rest undisturbed and may choose not to receive visitors. All visitors should check with the nurses’ station when arriving during these hours.
